| Phimeanakas
("Celestial Palace") is built near the center of what was once the royal palace
of Angkor. This structure is believed to be where ancient Khmer God-Kings
fulfilled their nightly duty to sleep with a mystical naga
goddess, thus ensuring the continuance of their lives and the prosperity of
their kingdom. |
